I am such a furrtunate kitty. I have been blessed with a warm, safe home, a loving furmily and an always available food supply. My meowmie makes sure that each kitty in our household feels special. I have many places for hiding, napping and watching the world go by. I have a Grandmeowmie and Grandfafur who love me, two Aunts, two Uncles and two human cousins who love to spoil kitties whenever they visit our house. Some of the things that go on at our house at this time of year are in the next paragraph. I want to say right now that I purrsonally do not appreciate this holiday as much as my meowmie does...can mew believe that humans can make so much noise??? It seriously disturbs my napping! I know that all of mew will join me in a purrtest to the really terrible thing that happens on Thanksgiving Day...my meowmie will not allow us to attack the turkey! She does not even give us a token bite, and it is such a Big bird too! (mew furriends...don't tell my meowmie, but my Grandmeowmie actually will sneak bites of yummy turkey to all of the fuzzy memfurs of our household! tee-hee)

On Thanksgiving day, we have a family gathering at our house. It started long ago when my Grandpurrents hosted the annual event at their house. Relatives from Grandmeowmie's side of the family would arrive...there were my meowmie's Grandmeowmie, Uncles, Aunts, Sisters and many, many cousins present! They always had a real feast. The people played and visited with each other and watched football games. One of meowmie's young cousins liked to put on little Thanksgiving pageants and recitations...imagine their surprise when that cousin's young daughter spontaneously started doing the same thing many years later! They all had fun and have wonderful memories of those holidays of the past. The Thanksgiving celebration has usually been held at our house for over a decade now. Not all of the family is able to attend now due to distance and other obligations. We now have a new generation who joins us, but some of the family members who used to come for the holiday are, sadly, no longer with us. We still have fun, eat lots of yummy turkey and trimmings and, of course, we still watch football games. One think that we never forget to do it to Give Thanks for the many blessings which have come our way...we are thankful for our family members who are with us physically and in spirit, as well as for those who have blessed our lives and gone on to their version of the Rainbow Bridge. We also give thanks for everything that makes our daily lives worth living and for the blessing of living in a country which is built on Constitutional Rights as well as for the Freedom that we enjoy.
