Miss Absinthe

(AKA Abby)

My sisfur, Riesling, and I were born on a farm not far from the town in which we now live.  We were adopted by a family who Named us Mitzie and Bitsy.  We had a lot of fun living with them for about 5 months, although we used to drive the mama of the family crazy sometimes.  The family found out that their little boy was allergic to cats, so we had to find a new home.  The lady that lives next door to them thought that we were very cute, and she did not want to see us have to go back to the country, so she adopted us in November of 1991.

The first thing that happened was that we got new names---our new meowmie was not too enchanted with the ones that we came with.  It took a couple of days for us to start feeling at home in our new house---mostly because there were two big boy kitties already in residence.  They decided that we were a little frisky for them, but that we posed no real threat, so they let us roam the house in peace.  Sometimes, they were curious about us, and sometimes we tried to play with them, but they did not want to play as much as we did.  The boys, Jameson & Casey, even let us curl up on the same bed with them.  We really loved that, 'cause the waterbed is a really comfy place to spend a lot serious sleeping hours.

I am a really sweet kitty---you can ask anyone who comes to our house!  I am very friendly, and am usually the first kitty of the house to greet guests.  I love to be cuddled and petted, and I am sometimes a bit of a pest when I think that I should be cuddled "right now", and not later---even when meowmie is really busy doing important things!  It is hard to get mad at me for long, though, as I have such a winning personality, and am very loving.

I have one habit which is not entirely appreciated:  I love to "groom" short hair, especially if it is on my Grandma's head.  I just get up on the back of the chair or sofa and put both of my paws on their shoulders and start licking the hair.  I like to do that to my first mama, too, when she comes over to our house to  do the cleaning.  She says that I am a real pest, but I know that I am really a BIG help to her!  (my meowmie has  longer hair, so she is safe from my grooming help)

I love curling up with my sisfur, Riesling, or my brofur, Jameson, and sleeping for hours.   The only person in this house that I don't get along with is that *$#@^ little calico kitty that meowmie brought into the house a few years ago.  (and I don't care much for that little *$#@^ gray kitty who came here to live in 1999 either)

Yipppeeee...I am a memfur of The Cats Meow Club!!!
