We have crossed Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called
Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet
goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and
play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and
comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those
who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember
them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss
someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and
looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs
carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you
cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses
rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once
more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never
absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Whiskey
My brother, Brandy, and I were adopted together and lived very happily for a long time. My human thought that I was the most perfect kitty in the world!

Brandy
My brother and I lived many wonderful years with our human. I lived a couple of years longer than my brother, and really missed him when he went to Rainbow Bridge. We are now together again.

Bailey
Bailey was a very special dog, great friend who did everything at 100% effort. Nobody could clear the cats out of my Mom & Dad’s backyard or make squirrels scurry up one of our trees like Bailey. She had a rough early life after being abandoned on the golf course and starving for almost 2 months as a puppy. Animal control told us that she had been hit by a car on two occasions while trying to find food. Her broken bones had to heal naturally which probably caused her spinal, backbone, hip and leg problems later in life. Despite all the tests she had and all the experts who examined her and worked with her, no single treatable cause could be found for her hind end problems. She was a very tough little girl but never outgrew her fear of not eating and let us know anytime her food dish was empty. Each time we filled her food dish she would thank us. She would have protected us with her life if the need had arise.
She spend her last 24 hours on
assorted pain pills and a heavy dose of valium while eating several steaks,
turkey franks and beef jerky (her favorites). She was very happy and playful,
while on, what the vet called a “valium high.” It was the best she felt in
several years. She was a very proud dog and left us in good spirits and we hope
good memories.

Nikki
I was the beloved "little one" of a nice family who live in west central Illinois. I was very pampered and a little bit spoiled, but was always a loving companion to my family. Christmas was one of my favorite times of year because I loved opening presents---my fastest opening time was 3 seconds!

Angie
I was a surprise Anniversary gift for my Mama and Daddy from their daughters. They couldn't believe it when they saw me and found out that I was all theirs! I lived a wonderful life with them, and was spoiled rotten, of course. (my human "sisters" were adults, and living in different places, so I was the only "kid" in the family at that time) I loved to chase toys or balls, and would play as long as someone would throw things for me---even all day if they would do it!!

Kahlua au Lait
I lived with my beloved human in east central Illinois. I was a clown, to be sure, but was also a ferocious protector of my human's territory. I was loved by everyone who knew me, and there were many tears when my life was, tragically, cut short at a young age.

Kummel, Beau, Char & Cash
Beaujolais (Beau)
My littermate, Char, and I were born in Illinois and spent most of our first year there before moving to the Pacific Northwest. We had lots of fun playing there, and loved to visit with our Grandma, Grandpa and Auntie. We did not do so well at doggy obedience class, but learned to be upstanding citizens in spite of it! I was "King of the House" for many years, and always loved it when my Granny, Grampa & Aunt would come to visit, because I remembered them, even though I moved away from them at an early age. I had a great life and departed unexpectedly, leaving the household very sad, but with great memories.

Chardonnay (Char)
Along with my brother, Beau, I had a really fun puppyhood in Illinois before moving west. We had an adventure while we were going to our new home, being snowbound in Idaho for Thanksgiving, but did not mind it, since we were with our doting Mama & Papa, who had lots of treats for us! We loved to run around on our wooded property, and always enjoyed our trips to the beach or camping. I was here for a while after Beau went to Rainbow Bridge, and was ill for a while before I joined him, but was kept quite comfortable by my loving humans.

Cassis (Cash)
I was brought into the household to become a watchdog for my family. A burglar had come into their house, but Beau and Char had not stopped them, so they decided that a guard dog was in order. I turned out to be an adorable and lovable little Airhead, oops, I mean Airedale, but I'm not sure if I would have been the best attack doggie. My humans got lots of enjoyment out of me and my lovable antics. My sister, Kummel, and I were quite destructive when we were going through puppyhood, but grew into wonderful companions, and gave them an excuse to redecorate one of the bathrooms! I left them unexpectedly, due to a sudden, critical illness, but left them with many fond memories.

Kummel
I was invited to join the family when my sister, Cash, was newly acquired, as she was driving the "mature" dogs, Beau & Char, crazy trying to play with them, as puppies often do. The humans decided that what Cash needed was a puppy to play with, and was I ever glad! I had a wonderful time growing up with the rest of the "herd", and became a sweet and loving companion to all of them. I had a lot of fun doing all of the things that people and pups get to do in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, and always loved being with my humans and my doggie brothers and sisters. I was quite ill for some time before I went to Rainbow Bridge, but was given all of the advantages that modern "pup" medicine had to offer. My humans were very sad when I left, but they know that I am in a wonderful place now, and they have many beautiful memories of my life.

Sadie
I am Sadie. I was the beloved pup of a family who lives in Wisconsin. I loved to play with my Mama, and I loved outdoor pursuits with my Dad. Unfortunately, I went to the Bridge sooner than anyone thought that I would, but, as long as it lasted, I had a very fine life on Earth.
